Plastic is transparent to the radio signals, so it doesn't affect it much! As for props, can't say for sure, but generally for a non-vtol version with only tractor motors, higher prop pitch should be able to give you a more efficient flight.

@@ArxangelRC Not directed particularly at you, but most reviews. Powered to get up in the air, then glider to glide. Yes I do realise that they can also be flown under power but that makes them simply another powered plane.

@@johnnichol9412 Well... not really! They behave differently than a regular plane, and I have had fun chasing up drafts under clouds and thermals a lot more efficiently than with a regular plane that doesn't have the same body setup.

That sucks! But why do you think it folded? Carbon spar failed?

@@ArxangelRC I'm not sure if they are made of carbon fiber. I was just making a banking turn when it folded. I still have not been able to recover it. Hopefully I will get a call from the communications company on Monday for me to recover the wreck.

@@jfwahl It should be carbon, its possible though it was not of the woven type, but single direction tubes, which are inherently weaker... and then again... very weird to break in such a spot if there was no prior damage to that component... but I guess its possible.

@@ArxangelRC Hello, I just recovered the drone. It looks like it threw a blade and spiraled into the ground. The main spar is made of aluminum now, not Carbon Fiber.

@@ArxangelRC yes sir, my motor test is blacked out. Esc tone when i connect battery but no motor test. Not sure if i have motor set. channel one is throttle, next is empty, then elevon right and thne eleven right. this is a matekf405 wing setup.

I don't know to be honest. Unless you order some custom case, your option is to get it from China, or to use the original packaging the plane came in! The plane is actually made to fit back into the original foam box even with gear on it, so that might work!

@@ghostronics-4113 Well... it is one of the systems, I feel like it may be one of the best when you get the hang of it. The system works with IP cameras with an RTSP video feeds, if you are not using a SIYI gimbal, you should adjust IP addresses as needed to get it working. SIYI have an array of cameras, some have x10 zoom, so you should check them out.

Well in theory it should just need a compass calibration, and tilt end point calibration, and then it should be able to work, given all wiring is done right.

@@user-vx8xf8sm9j Well it depends, what do you want to use it with? If you are going to bw running an analogue FPV system you will need the TFTiny, yes. If you will be using a digital one, and it can carry and output mavlink telemetry, you can do without the TFTiny.

Its for the camera servo - swings the camera up or down during transitions, so that it is always looking forward!

Well since this has the motor in the nose, I don't recall having to use elevator reflex on launch, but then I also had an autopilot in it. Try 2mm up, won't hurt, you can always remove it, if its too much.

Well, there are a number of ready-to-fly options that you can buy from name brand companies which have beginner friendly stabilization systems in them, which will help you learn how to fly. Meanwhile you can learn about the more DIY options and increase your knowledge.

If there is an Arduplane firmware available for this board, it will work, just flash it. There is no conversion that is needed.

It has an SBUS output as well as some PWM channel outputs, so if the FY41 system can work with any of those, it should work.

@@ArxangelRC well it has like video signal 12 v gnd port to connect. Not sure if it means it will work. Im Kinda noob on this..

@@DirtyThing20 The HM30 is a digital system, and what your autopilot has seems to be analogue, so that won't work there! The only thing you can connect from the autopilot to the HM30 is mavlink data, IF that autopilot has that, else you won't be able to have a working OSD on the HM30 feed!

Hey, welcome back! The long range depends on what you consider to be long range. Some systems can now reliably do 20+kms of digital video, although for me analogue is still very valid, and if you've bot had any issues with your setup, might as well keep using it. The upgrade to a digital system is a want... no a need thing! :)

@@ArxangelRC I think I’d like to go digital after being used to the DJI stuff. Not just for image quality but the size and fragility of my antennas. What about flight controllers… the Vector is awesome but obviously discontinued and I think my air speed sensor is broke, and I can’t find a replacement. Is the MFD still the best ‘plug and play’ system?

@@chrisf5475 Well the DJI system is also the most expensive, but seems to work adequately well at the very least up to 13kms, perhaps more if there is no interference! My only hands on experience is with the SIYI system and I am pretty happy with it, some people have been out to over 40kms, but it does have more delay, which for plane cruising isn't really an issue. There is also OpenHD, which is cheapest option but requires a good deal of DIY and finding some obscure components to make it work well, I've heard Walksnail is also decent... and can't recall what else! As foe the FC, yes, the MFD is still a very good plug-n-play option.

To be honest... I don't know... I haven't had a new one of these to flash in a long time, but recently did some SpeedyBee 405 Wings, and they did require the iNav configurator to be flashed with the Ardu file...

Hmmmm... what environment are you flying in? Close to the city or in it? Did you try binding the ground and air modules before flight? SIYI claim that during binding the system chooses the best channel to operate on, so perhaps that could help! I did my tests in a pretty RF free area.

@@ArxangelRC i am pretty close to the city, so not the cleanest RF area, but in that same place I always fly my DJI O3 with great results. I was not aware I should bind the unit just before flight. It was bonded already from home.

Well i had yesterday another flight in the 40km mode this time with the large antennas, and the system performed flawlessly. I only changed the position of the Rx (i still use separate lines for safety) far back on to my tail. The system still had some lag but noticeable better. I would still not use it for FPV, but a video link in auto mode.

Well... yes... or if you are in certain countries you can fly at an RC club location without a licence, but also without an autopilot in the plane.

Volantex make them, they are in China. Actually I think they changed the name of the company in recent years... now its called Exhobby, or something like this.

I can't say that I recall anymore... try channels from 5 on to see which one would make it go on or off... perhaps channel 8... don't remember, but yes, it needs to go full swing from -100 to +100.
